Let’s Scream For Ice Cream: 4-Ingredient No-Machine Circus Animal Cookie Ice Cream

So as you probably can tell, I love ice cream (who doesn’t?), and I love making ice cream flavors that aren’t available in stores. But what I don’t like, is working hours on a product when there is an easy shortcut. And here is that short-cut. No-machine ice cream is made with two ingredients (heavy whipping cream and sweetened condensed milk) and any additional add-ins you want! So when contemplating what new flavors of ice cream I would make, I decided to revisit one of the best cookies that brings you back to your childhood: Circus Animal Cookies! You know, those pink and white animal shaped cookies coated with sprinkles? So if you take ice cream, which is awesome, and Circus Animal Cookies, which are also awesome, you basically get an awesome explosion!

Literally the Best Thing Ever: German Chocolate Cake

So as you can tell from the title, I really like German Chocolate Cake, which shouldn’t surprise you because pretty much everything I make I somehow incorporate coconut into it. But when I say this recipe is “Literally the Best Thing Ever,” believe me. Go make this. Become German (actually, did you know that German Chocolate Cake isn’t even German? Yeah, kind of like French Fries aren’t even French. I’ll explain this later in the post). And by the way, this is my go-to dessert recipe, it isn’t all that complicated and it gives insanely delicious results. So next time you have a birthday party, company coming over, or you just really want to bake a cake, make this.

Oprah’s Favorite Cake: Momofuku Milk Bar’s Banana Layer Cake

I hope you all had an food-filled, family-filled, and love-filled Thanksgiving this past week! Every Thanksgiving my family and I go to our friend’s house and have the most wonderful Thanksgiving dinner, full of turkey, chicken, prime rib, gravy, cranberries, potatoes, veggies, stuffing, and of course dessert. It has always been my job to supply one of the many desserts, and this year I decided to step out of my comfort zone and try to create the most complex dessert I’ve ever made! The success of my Banana Cream Pie lead me to create another Momofuku Milk Bar Dessert, this one much more complicated (but perhaps even more delicious!). This cake, said to be Oprah’s favorite, consists of a moist Banana Cake, creamy Chocolate Hazelnut Ganache, Hazelnut Crunch, fresh Banana Cream, and fluffy Hazelnut Frosting. This cake may be intimidating, but the results are so worth it! Let’s get baking!

Everything But The Kitchen Sink: Completely Customizable Quiche

Quiche, what a funny word. And what a funny concept: a pie made of cheesy eggs and any other random savory ingredients desired. But those funny things in life are some of the best things in life. I love quiche. I make it all the time. It is so easy and so delicious (I mean, what’s not to love about a savory cheesy custard pie with any meat and veggies of your choice?). I love it hot, room-temperature, or left-over straight from the fridge. And as a bonus, it uses up all those odds and ends stuck in the back of your refrigerator. So what’s keeping you from making it? Turn up that oven and start whisking!

Happy Birthday Dad: Momofuku Milk Bar’s Banana Cream Pie

Banana cream pie: a perfectly buttery, flaky pie crust topped with a fluffy banana cream and lightly sweetened whipped cream. Or so you may think… Momofuku Milk Bar, made famous for their cereal milk, compost cookies, and crack pie, takes the traditional and elevates it to new levels. This banana cream pie consists of a chocolately crust reminiscent of a graham cracker crust. On top of this unusual crust is a bright yellow, luscious, banana-flavor-packed cream.  Trust me, this recipe will change the way you look at banana cream pie forever. Happy birthday, Dad. I know you will enjoy a slice.
